The 103rd meeting of the Committee on Tidal Hydraulics was held at the U.S. Army Engineer District, Savannah, on 20-22 September 1994. The Savannah Harbor project was the primary focus of the meeting.Technical presentations were made on Savannah Harbor and the effects of removing the tide gate from operation and of deepening the channel in 1992. The Long-Term Management Strategy for dredging and disposal provides for most effective measures for the next 20 years of harbor operation and maintenance. The Savannah River Basin project addresses goals of maintaining water quality and flood protection. A proposed project for deepening Brunswick Harbor was also presented. During the Executive Session, the Committee provided comments on questions about Savannah Harbor posed by the District and reviewed the Grays Harbor Project, Cohesive Sediments Research Newsletter, CTH Bibliography, and the CTH White Paper on RD.
