Abstract:
This study addresses on a microscopic level the mechanical failure of transition metals upon exposure to hydrogen. Using molecular dynamics computer simulations, the dependency of the critical tensile stress on hydrogen concentration and temperature in investigated in relation to the hydrogen embrittlement problem.
