Abstract:
This report investigates the Acoustic Charge Transport ACT Programmable Transversal Filter PTF with 128 taps each having a 5-bit tap precision. ACT devices can be used for Finite Impulse Response FIR adaptive filtering. The objective of this report is to document the implementation of an adaptive filter with ACT device using a Linear Random Search LRS adaptive algorithm, and its performance. The LRS algorithm was evaluated for a single Continuous-Wave CW tone interferer, and its performance null depth was compared to theoretical predictions. Specifically, the rate of convergence and filter response after adaptation was simulated using MATLAB and the results were compared to that obtained experimentally.
