Source selection is the process used in competitive, negotiated contracting to select the proposal offering the most advantageous alternative to the Government. The two approaches which can be used to select the most advantageous alternative are the lowest cost, acceptable proposal or best value. The source selection approach used should be commensurate with the acquisitions evaluation needs i.e., dont make source selection more complicated and expensive than necessary.
