The introduction of a rotating frame allows the use of a potential function to solve the problem of a rigid oblate ellipsoid undergoing rotation and translation in a rotating and straining inviscid flow. Virtual mass and lift force coefficients are calculated, including a coefficient associated with the ellipsoid rotation contribution to the lift force.
