Abstract:

This report on global time transformations comes from an in-house research effort in the area of distributed-parallel computing. The distributed- parallel computing environments are multiple clock systems interconnected by communications networks. The global time transformation maps the data from these different systems into a common i.e., global clock for an analysis. The derivation of the global time transformation is given. The primary components of the global time transformation are the clock rate and clock offset. These components and the measurement techniques for measuring these components are discussed. To demonstrate the accuracy of the global time transformation, a set of measurements were taken to compare with the transformation predictions.
