Abstract:

Both long-term and short-term sampling techniques are used to qualitatively determine the chemical vapor contaminants in an armored vehicle environment. Ambient air is drawn over sample tubes. The retained vapors are subsequently desorbed and quantified by several analytical techniques. Samples have been collected from the following installations howitzer firing range, motor pool, and both diesel- and gas-turbine-powered armored vehicle training centers.
