Abstract:
The Chesapeake Bay Watershed Model Workshop was held to ascertain the current state of the watershed modeling efforts as well as to guide the direction for future work. An overview was given to familiarize attendees with the past work on the watershed model and plans for Phase III specifically. Participants of the workshop were able to contribute information from a variety of backgrounds, including views from Federal and state governments, the private sector, and academia. The Chesapeake Bay Watershed Model Workshop brought together experts in the area of watershed modeling to discuss the direction for current and future use of the watershed model HSPF. The model workshop consisted of presentations from invited speakers as well as open discussion and consensus building with the attendees. Presentation topics included a brief history of HSPF, Phase II results, Phase III expectations, development of preprocessors and postprocessors, linkage of the watershed model to the Regional Acid Deposition Model - RADM, and the application of the watershed model as input data to the 3-D Bay water quality model. Open discussion and consensus building among the participants followed each of these presentations. Chesapeake Bay Watershed Model.
