A Review of Computer Evacuation Models and Their Data Needs

This document reviews the history and current status of computer models of the evacuation of an airliner cabin. Basic concepts upon which evacuation models are based are discussed, followed by a review of the Civil Aeromedical Institutes efforts during the 1970s. A comparison is made of the three models available today GA Model, AIREVAC, and EXODUS. The report then reviews parameters common to all models, and discusses literature available as a basis for these parameters.
