Abstract:

Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Intelligence C4I has become an inseparable part of todays military strategy. Until recently most Air Force commands were not concerned with true C4I integration. They were only concerned with reacting to the day to day operational requirements and not to long range planning. This is where strategic planning has gained its foothold. The defense budget continues to shrink and Air Force planners must cope with this decline while continuing to enhance and modernize C4I systems.
