Abstract:
This study guide is intended to be a convenient reference for use by Navy and Marine Corps personnel on civil law subjects. Those subjects include, inter alia, JAG Manual investigations, enlisted administrative separations, officer personnel matters, relations with civil law-enforcement authorities, legal assistance, freedom of expression, claims, standards of conduct, and the Freedom of Information and Privacy Acts. This study guide is continually under revision however, due to the inherent delays of the publication process, certain portions may not reflect the current state of the law. While every effort is made to ensure the accuracy of the study guide, it is the responsibility of the student to supplement the text with independent research. The study guide is designed to be a starting point for research, not a substitute for it.
