Abstract:
This monograph examines the controversy surrounding mass media and war by close examination of the medias influence on Carl von Clausewitzs Remarkable Trinity the people, the government, and the military. After a brief historical examination of that controversy, a new model is developed that provides a tool for the examination of past, present, and future conflicts. Subsequent sections examine the application of this model against limited war, total war, operations other than war, and selected future scenarios. A separate section offers constructs for future militarymedia relations. The final section summarizes the findings.
