Abstract:
This is one of the volumes which comprise the FLIS Procedures Manual. It is published under the authority of Department of Defense Directive 4100.39, Federal Logistics Information System FLIS and contains criteria for acceptance and processing of Item Identification, InterrogationSearch. Supply Management, and Organizational Entity transaction DICs. Editvalidation is applied to all input, using criteria for the specific segments within a DIC and unique edits for the DIC itself. Three levels of editvalidation are described as follows Basic editvalidation is performed for each data element within a segment to make sure all applicable data elements are submitted in proper size, format, and stand-alone value. Combination editvalidation is performed between data elements within a segment to verify the compatibility of data element values, when required. These data elements are grouped and the specific editvalidation is recorded. DIC editvalidation is performed between data elements, across segments, or between segments and files to verify complete transaction integrity
