Since the early 1980s, the U.S. Army Environmental Center formerly the U.S. Army Toxic and hazardous Materials Agency has had the responsibility for conducting demonstrations of technologies with the potential to reduce or eliminate the generation of hazardous wastes at Army industrial facilities.
