On the Computation of Simplical Approximations of Implicitly Defined Two-Dimensional Manifolds.

A method is presented for the computation of a simplicial approximation covering a specified subset M sub o of a two-dimensional manifold M in Rn defined implicitly as the solution set of a nonlinear system Fx 0 of n-2 equations in n unknowns. The given subset M sub o is a subset of M is the intersection of M with some polyhedral domain in Rn and is assumed to be bounded and non-empty. The method represents an extension of a local simplicial approximation process developed earlier by the second author.
