Tetrakisiso-propyldiarsine was synthesized by the reaction of i- PrAsLi with i-Pr2Asl. The lithium salt of the secondary arsine was produced following deprotonation of i-Pr2AsH, obtained by reduction of i-Pr2AsI, which was prepared by the thermolysis of i-Pr3AsI2. The X-ray crystal structure of I-Pr3AslI has been determined on the product of the reaction of i-Pr3As and I2. Compounds of the general form E Asi-Pr, E 0, S, Se have been prepared.
