The gas phase reactions of CF3-, C2F5-, and C3F3- with atomic hydrogen have been studied at 300 K using a selected ion flow tube VT-SIFT instrument. In addition, reactions of these ions with molecular hydrogen were studied. The reactions with atomic hydrogen are all fast but below collisional efficiency. These ions do not react measurably with H2. The products of the reactions with atomic hydrogen include free electrons since no ionic products were detected in any of the reactions with H. Electron detachment, Ion-molecule, Kinetics, Fluorocarbon.
