Abstract:

Stainless steels, coppernickel and titanium alloys are frequently used in offshore and gas systems. Alloying elements are added to metals to improve workability, electrical properties and corrosion resistance. Alloying elements also alter the formation, chemical composition, thickness and tenacity of corrosion products and may increase or decrease susceptibility to microbiologically influenced corrosion MIC.
