The goals of this research are Understand and clarify the physical mechanism underlying the electrorheological ER phenomenon, such as viscosity, the structure of ER fluids, phase transitions, and properties Apply the ER phenomenon to fuels to control viscosity Study cryogenic ER fluids and investigate applications of the ER effect to slurry rocket fuels.
