Abstract:

CD-ROM technology has developed to a point where the United States Marine Corps must seriously consider adopting it as a primary data storage and retrieval medium. This paper defines CD-ROM and identifies its current status in the Corps. Additionally, this document examines the current and potential uses of CD-ROM and offers recommendations on the most efficient way to migrate towards this new technology.
