This report is to document the design and qualification testing of the CNU-552E container. An aluminum, long-life, reusable container for shipping and storing an ALQ-155 RT unit. The CNU-552E will replace the current wood container. The CNU-552E designed IAW MIL-STD-5584 is a welded aluminum double wall, controlled breathing, container for transporting the RT unit world-wide. The container passed all qualification tests IAW FED-STD-101 and MIL-STD-648 as well as a field test shipment of a unit through the supply system. The new container will not only meet all the users requirements but will also provide an economical savings in O and M costs of approximately 1 million dollars. The CNU-552E container designed, prototyped and tested in house at the Air Force Packaging Evaluation Activity is qualified for production release.
