One-hundred and sixty-eight species of Culicoides are recorded from Southeast Asia, a region comprising the countries of Burma, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam. A Taxonomic key is given for the identification of adults based mainly on females, and an atlas of wing photographs is arranged in taxonomic sequence.
