Abstract:

The Naval Postgraduate schools Middle Ultraviolet Spectrograph MUSTANG was designed to measure the spectrum of the Earths airglow from 1800 A to 3400 A. The MUSTANG instrument was tested using standard techniques to determine the wavelength calibration, overall sensitivity, and detector linearity. The instrument was launched on a NASA sounding rocket on March 19, 1992, from White Sands Missile Range N.M. Post-flight tests indicate that the calibration did not change as a result of the rocket experiment. Spectrograph, Ultraviolet spectra, Airglow.
