Abstract:

This thesis presents an analysis of the Army Acquisition Corps. The Packard Commission and the Armys Material Acquisition Management program are used to develop issues and questions concerning the selection, education, training, and assignment policies for Army Acquisition Corps officers. A detailed description of the Army Acquisition Corps is provided. Data is presented based on the personal interviews conducted with fourteen Army program managers using the issues and questions as a standard interview script. The data is analyzed and conclusions are made on the structure and policies of the Army Acquisition Corps. The basis concept and structure of the Army Acquisition Corps are validated by the responses to the interview questions. Recommendations are made to improve the Army Acquisition Corps.
