The design, construction, and integration of a computer controlled dc electric transmission in a 300 hp, 14 ton, M113 vehicle are described. The electric transmission was designed and built using off-the-shelf components Bendix 12,000 rmin aircraft ac generators, rectifiers, Mawdsley 5,400 rmin dc traction motors, pulse width modulation motor field current controllers, and FMC two speed final drives. Tracked vehicles, test beds, drive-by-wire, electric drive, microcomputer control.
