Abstract:

This report describes how the Personnel-Based System Evaluation Aid PER-SEVAL performance shaping functions were developed. It describes how PER- SEVAL will use these functions to identify minimum levels of personnel characteristics for a particular contractors design. Finally, procedures for future validation of the functions are outlined. The PER-SEVAL performance shaping functions were developed by conducting regression analyses of data obtained from the U.S. Army Research Institute for the Behavioral and Social Sciences Project A database. They predict task performance as a function of personnel characteristics and training. Separate functions are provided for different types of tasks. Two types of training variables are used in the performance shaping functions--frequency and recency of practice. MANPRINT, Training, Performance, Project A. Personnel characteristics,
