This specification establishes the development, test, and performance requirements of an integrated set of computer program collectively known as the Electronic Documentation System, referred to as EDS. The Electronic Documentation System is intended to support the movement of a compound document through the document life cycle. Document life cycle phases are editing the document creationrevision, formatting the document, imaging or printing the document, storing the document, and possible transfer of the document. The proposed system will include computer programs which will assist in these life cycle steps.
