Abstract:
Linear discriminant analysis is used to generate speech data transformations. This transformed data is then within the ARM continuous speech recognition system. Experiments are described using transformed data in conjunction with variable frame rate analysis and word transition penalties. Speaker independent results are reported which are as good as the best obtained previously using cosine transformations and variable frame rate analysis. The two sets of results are compared and commented on.
