The original purpose of this research was to explore the usefulness and performance of a 94 GHz pulse Doppler radar for the remote sensing of clouds and precipitation. The approach was first to design and assemble a 94 GHz Doppler radar. The observations of clouds and precipitation with that radar were conducted along with the interpretations of the observational data in an effort to make contributions toward a better understanding of the physics and dynamics of clouds and precipitation systems.
