Abstract:

A new automatic precalibrationquality-control system for laboratory standard transducers is in operation in the Standards Section, Transducer Branch, at the Underwater Sound Reference Detachment of the Naval Research Laboratory, in Orlando, FL. The system automates the measurement of the low- frequency free-field voltage sensitivity FFVS of a transducer and the broadband preamplifier voltage coupling gain of a hydrophone preamplifier. Additional automated measurements include impedance and admittance tests from 100 Hz to 40 mHz. The test system is centered around the Hewlett Packard 4194A impedancegain-phase analyzer. Author
