The purpose of this report is to evaluate Computer Aided Engineering CAE software tools and their application to the Designated Government Acceptance RepresentativeDGAR acceptance process. The report discusses the final evaluation results for the CAE study. The focus of the report covers the general methodology for the application of CAE software to the DGAR contract deliverable acceptance process. The CAE application approach is to perform circuit and fault simulations to generate the required technical data in order for the DGAR to technically judge the contractors test program quality. The report concludes that the level of effort to generate technical facts with which to verify the contractors TPS product was not cost competitive with traditional verification methods. The level of effort to build a circuit simulation model for TPS maintenance, TPS development, and life cycle support cost purposes is extremely cost effective.
