The research revealed a gap exists between the role of the price analyst as described in the literature and the role described by the field. The price analysts role in the source selection process is significant during the evaluation stage however, limited in the stages prior to the evaluation. Due to the limited involvement, the price analysts role does not result in the receipt of efficient contractor proposals and evaluations.
