A survey of U.S. Army War College graduates from Academic Years 1983 to 1987 was conducted in the summer of 1988. The purposes of the survey were two-fold 1 to evaluate the relevance of the curriculum in accomplishing its mission to educate and prepare students for senior leadership positions, and 2 to provide input for curriculum improvement. The survey was composed of three separate sections 1 demographic information, 2 evaluations of the utility of USAWC curriculum to assignment, and 3 suggestions for improving the curriculum. The data from 1,111 Army officers indicated that USAWC prepared its students well for future assignments. Every curriculum topic taught at USAWC has been useful to at least some graduates in their current positions. Although there was no consensus on which topics should be deleted or added to the curriculum, all suggestions will be considered by the USAWC faculty and staff.
