Abstract:
This report describes the David Taylor Research Centers experiences with the NEKTON program, a computational fluid dynamics tool developed at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The theory and applications of the program are reviewed in a literature survey. A number of test cases were run successfully at DTRC and the results are promising. The applicability of NEKTON to high Reynolds number flows with three-dimensional complex geometries will require further study.
