Abstract:

We have sputtered isotopicall enriched silver foil 107 Ag in the source of a double-focusing mass spectrometer reverse geometry in the presence of methyl iodide vapor. We have detected the formation of a series of iodinated positively and negatively charged silver clusters of formula AgXIYk along with the purely metallic charged clusters.
