Abstract:

This paper discusses the current laws, Department of Defense Directives, and the results of both the Armys and Defenses Management Review and the impacts they will have on the new Army Acquisition Corps. It also deals with the concept, career development and career opportunities that the new Army Acquisition Corps will offer to the Army officer. Finally, this paper will attempt to analyze how successful the Army will be in establishing the Army Acquisition Corps as an attractive and competitive career field for Army officers.
