Tetraneopentoxyphthalocyanine Langmuir-Blodgett Films: Spectroscopy at the Air/Water Interface

A series of tetraneopentoxyphthalolocyanine Ag2, Ni2, Zn2 and Co2 compounds are used in the study of Langmuir monolayers at the airwater interface. Isotherm measurements and absorption spectra of the standing monolayers are presented to discuss the mechanism of monolayer formation with tetraneopentoxyphthalocyanines. The MTNPc species from self-assembled domains when the coverage is less than 1 monolayer. Combing exciton coupling theory with the isotherm measurement provides a consistent representation of the orientation angle of the MTNPc units at the airwater interface.
