The thrust of the research is to initiate the development of a theoretical and empirical basis for incorporating the important environmental and countermeasures variables into the evaluation, selection and processing of multispectral sensorsfeatures for distinguishing target signatures. The research reflects a small but significant effort to develop a methodology for analyzing multispectral sensors and relating their performance to environmental and countermeasure factors under widely varying environmental and countermeasure conditions.
