Abstract:

The paper shows that the Reissner Mindlin plate model for clamped in boundary condition does not capture the boundary layer behavior for the bending moments. This boundary layer is present in the 3 dimensional formulation. In contrast the 1,1,2 model shows this boundary layer. The strength of the boundary layer for the1,1,2 model is analyzed.
