Abstract:

This report describes and suggests improvements to the requirement methodologies for ground-fired conventional ammunition developed for the U.S. Marine Corps USMC. The analysis deals primarily with the shooter-oriented level-of-effort SOLOE and the target-oriented level-of-effort TOLOE methodologies. The SOLOE methodology is applied to mortars, grenades, and small- caliber munitions. The TOLOE methodology is applied to the anti-armor and artillery munitions. In both methodologies, the conflict is divided into six thirty-day periods and the ammunition requirements are output in roundstubeday for each period.
