Abstract:

A prototype environmental data set was devised to provide material developers with information on terrain and environmental factors that affect the design, development, and testing of Army material e.g., mines, munitions weapons, bridges, vehicles, sensors, etc.. A computerized simulation is used for performance prediction. Factor categories include digital maps and data acquisition of topography, vegetation, surface and subsurface composition, hydrologic features, cultural features, climate, weather, and obscurants.
