The modeling of the droplet formation at the gasliquid boundary interface of a gaseous jet injected into a liquid metal bath and the turbulent mixing of the resultant two-phase gasliquid droplets mixture is presented as a preliminary to the analysis of the liquid metal fuel combustion problem. The model is used to predict velocity and liquid droplet fraction distributions across the mixing zone and along the centerline of the jet. These results show that the distribution of the liquid fuel droplets peaks away from the region of maximum oxidizer concentrations.
