Abstract:
The flowing afterglowLangmuir probe FALP apparatus has been used to study a electron attachment reactions of many species including, for the first time, some unstable molecular radicals, and some halogenated benzenes, triflate esters, halomethanes and haloethanes b dissociative recombination reaction rate coefficients and, for the first time, the neutral products specifically OH and H radicals from the dissociative recombination of selected positive ions. The selected ion flow tube has been used to determine the rate coefficients and product ion distributions for many positive ionneutral reactions, including reactions of ions in the series PHnn 0 to 4, of the rare gas ions Kr, Kr2Xe and Xe2 and of the halogen ions F, Cl, Br and I.
