Abstract:
Non-externally sustained glow discharges of 10.8 microsec. and 26.25 microsec. duration are operated in CO2 laser gas mixtures over a pressure range 0.3 to 1 atm. The effects of gas mixture, pressure and pulselength are characterized and the influence of CO2 dissociation products on the discharge are examined along with measurements of the rate of dissociation of CO2.
