Abstract:

This study evaluates the senior Air Force leadership intent, or vision, for the Air Force Fitness Program. This intent is then compared to the reality present in unit-level fitness programs. This unit-level reality is based upon three studies conducted in the latter half of the 1980s and with the authors experiences as commander of a Strategic Air Command security police squadron. The results of the study show that senior Air Force leaders expect that unit-level commanders will ensure individuals fully meet Air Force Fitness Program intent and standards. RWJ
