Computer-Based Instruction within Transportation Mobility Training

Computer-based instruction CBI was compared with instructor -led training using a pretestposttest experimental design. The purpose was to demonstrate whether CBI was more effective that instructor-led for teaching transportation mobility. Lesson content was based on the Air Passenger Terminal APT function of transportation mobility. Results of the experiment indicated there was no statistical difference alpha .05 between the two methods. An attitudinal survey administered to the CBI sample group indicated that participants felt CBI would be useful in supplementing instructors but not totally eliminating them. Demographic information revealed that survey results were independent of the number of years of computer usage and years of mobility experience.
