Abstract:
Genus specific monoclonal antibodies have been generated to 14 different isolates of New World Leishmania. These antibodies have been used to identify closely related subspecies to recover genus-specific antigens for the development of sero-diagnostic assays and to identify parasites in infected tissues to quantitate antigen expression on the surface membrane by flow cytometry. Keywords Leishmania Monoclonal antibodies Amastigotes Serodiagnosis Flow cytometry Immunopathology.
