This report details efforts to advance the state of the art of quality assurancequality control in waste site characterization and remedial action. The two most widely used and accepted QAQC programs, the USEPA CLP and the USATHAMA IR QA plan, are compared and recommendations are provided for unification. The findings of a Working Group convened to discuss these issues are reported and the formation of a Task Force on Quality AssuranceQuality Control is announced.
