Abstract:

As opposed to the standard second order parabolic predictor, the Circular Arc Aimed Munition CAAM prediction concept accounts for the rotational motion of targets maneuvering in a circular arc. In this paper we present the results of a simulation study that investigated the difference in effectiveness between the CAAM predictor and a parabolic predictor, installed in a modern air defense gun, against a variety of flightpaths flown by maneuvering aircraft in actual field tests.
