Abstract:

This thesis specifies a mobile tactical C3CM system covering the HF VHF frequencies for use by ground forces. Description and analysis of a system that can intercept, analyze, DF, monitor and, if necessary, jam the frequency bands of interest are presented. The system analysis and possibilities of ESM ECM are considered in order to construct the overall theory of countering enemy communications from a tactical point of view. General system requirements, i.e., tactical, environmental, and human factors are also discussed. The concept of a mobile tactical HFVHF system is described from performance and functional points of view. Finally, a desired specification outline maximizing use of off- the-shelf available components is presented. A summary and future projections are also provided.
